Apparently we missed a very special day, National Doughnut Day! What kind of parents would we be if we denied our children of this wonderful celebration?
Marlo chose a “Princess” doughnut of course!
I’ve been letting Ty help out with some basic daily household chores, ones that I feel I can trust him with. Here is an example of his "table setting”…
Here’s our little man in action again, whipping up some store bought, cut and bake fresh chocolate chip cookies!
And of course we have to get some teamwork in there too, here are the sibs making some Caterpillar Bread. No, it’s not actually made with caterpillars…
Step 1: Mix the dough. Two mixers means double the mess.
Step 2: Kneading the dough. Or if your name is Ty, picking up the dough and just throwing it. Likewise if your name is Marlo just gently shove the overly floured dough across the counter, stressing about messy hands the whole time.
Step 3: Arrange dough into Caterpillar shape and WAY TOO GENEROUSLY brush with egg wash. Spill egg wash on floor. The entire bowl.
Step 4: Sprinkle Caterpillar with seeds of various shapes and sizes, and which will be littered about the entire kitchen and be found for days afterward!
Step 5: Eat for lunch. With honey of course!
In non-culinary related news, we joined good friends and neighbors the Thompson’s on Ride The Ducks in Newport…
Seeing the sites of our very familiar city from a new perspective!
I have been listening to those quacking noisemakers ever since. Yay for my ears.
