This poor blog suffers from my lack of attention, I am sorry dear blog (and dear readers). Allow me to catch you up on the beginnings of our Spring!
The coats are getting less bulky and the bedtime skies are staying lighter and lighter…so we find ourselves out doors a lot of the time, enjoying the newness of Spring!
If anyone would like to guess what Marlo is doing in these next two pictures…your guess is as good as mine…
So many birthdays in the Spring!
We celebrated Ty’s and Elizabeth’s together!
Mia approves of the cake!
I was able to tag along for one of Marlo’s school field trips to Mio’s Pizzeria (though I did have to make an early exit as Mia was not being a nice participant!)
Marlo had her dance pictures one evening, and while we were “waiting” for our turn I decided to use my nice camera and take advantage of their nice backgrounds and snap some of my own shots!
Here she is with her friend, Maggie.
Pretty girl, hamming it up!
Spring didn’t feel like cooperating for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ault Park (with my mom’s group). So we bundled up and checked out the petting zoo, the easter egg hunt and the snacks…
This was Mia’s first experience with an egg hunt and she just couldn’t figure out what all the hype was about!
“Where’s the good stuff?”
Posing for a picture with snacks and juice, the only reason they looked at the camera and smiled!
Checking out the animals…right down at their level.
The week of Easter we had the cousins and family over for some Easter Egg Dyeing…
One of my fav pictures! Ty was up to no good, OBVIOUSLY, creating a crazy egg.
Mia was content to ride around the kitchen the whole time…
The girls checking out the Mama Bunny in the back yard
All of our hard, COLORFUL, work!
Easter Morning before church (it was a nasty cold, rainy morning and we decided against the frilly ornate attire!)
Easter Sunday we headed up to Uncle Gary and Aunt Bobbie’s for the Holterman Family Easter Celebration.
Waiting for the go-ahead to start the big Hunt!
Mia was getting pretty good at the whole egg hunt thing and happily collected her share of eggs!
Mama and Baby Girl
Back inside, the kids unloaded their loot and Marlo was creating quite the scene. Parker was going crazy when she would blow her little lip whistle!
Monkey Faces!
Spring also signals the beginning of Sports! Marlo is beginning soccer and Ty T-ball.
Since it fell right during naptime, I took Marlo to soccer alone and she had a blast. The whole week leading up to this first game/practice, she was saying how she would be “the leader of the team”. I reminded her that meant she should be a good friend and teammate, a fast runner, goal scorer and a cheerleader for her friends.
Let’s see how that panned out…
Warming up (her goofball faces) in the car before the practice.
Posing with her friend (and brother’s classmate) Eden!
Warming up!
Go Go Go, my little runner…be that LEADER!
Ummm, Marlo…LEADERS do NOT pick up the soccer ball with their hands!
Ummm, Marlo, dear….LEADERS do NOT pick flowers while the action of the game is still happening
The other team is scoring. Marlo is picking flowers. Spells LEADER huh?
Spring also means Zoo Blooms!
I really did try to get a good picture of the girls. Marlo was such a trooper and kept her hands ready and her smile fixed…
What should we happen to stumble upon, but Marlo’s favorite: Mr. Peacock!
She was not too happy that he would not face the crowd with his feather fan, so she did some “Peacock Whispering” and really did get him to turn around. She was like a little pro!
We had a few more birthday celebrations at our house just last weekend.
Mia discovered that she likes Grandpa to flip her upside down!
We celebrated Tommy and Danny’s birthdays…Vicky made these wonderful cakes/cookie for the birthday boys…
The Bon Bonnerie helped me with Tommy’s cake (and also a little announcement we decided to share…)
