So, on Saturday Ty competed in the Hyde Park Blast race. He was in the kids division, of course, and ran a whopping 25 yards (though, I think it was a bit longer than that). He rose early from bed, did a few calisthenics and a few strides, followed by a hearty breakfast of tootmeal (for you who know Ty well, you know what this is), blueberries and chock full o' protein-milk. He suited up in his new bright green race tshirt and black adidas shorts. He had white socks jacked up to his knees (thanks, Dad) and his well worn in Nike shoes double knotted for assurance. With mini, chilled water bottle in hand he was escorted out to Hyde Park Square where he toed up to the start line. Sweat starting to line his brow, he did a few quick leaps in the air to awaken his muscles. (Insert inspirational Rocky music...) As the official announced the imminent starting gun, Ty made the sign of the cross as he was about to begin his very first race. A whopping 25 yards lay ahead of him, but the miles and weeks of training behind him guaranteed a swift finish. While other competitors were feverishly trying to wedge into a prime spot on the start line, Ty held his spot and watched the official raise the gun (her arm)..."Ready, Set......GO!" And off he went. Like a flash, he zipped past all the other competitors and left all the other wimpy, bright green shirted kiddos choking on his dust. In a world record breaking time Ty Thomas Joseph Regan crossed the finish line with the cacophonous crowd roaring his praises! He was presented with a pure Golden finishers medal, an ice cold cup of water for rehydration, and a lot of hugs and kisses from his greatest fans...
Don't forget those calves...

**If you'd like to call and wish him congratulations, please be patient as we are taking several calls from Nike, Gatorade and other such companies for endorsement deals.
Pre-race, stretching out those hamstrings...

Whew, a job well done. Rehydration time! Would ya look at that medal!
Receiving a congratulatory HIGH FIVE from Uncle Mikey!
Pure Gold.
And here's the BIG RACE!
(you may notice a comment made in the background- "looks like he's having trouble making it"-just ignore that, it was just some rude, non-competitor, crowd member who is OBVIOUSLY envious of Ty's physical power, stamina, physique and musculature!)
And here is Ty-just about 24 hr after the race, refeuling with carbs-(whole wheat) french toast, fruit and a good read of the Sunday paper (and those of you who know Ty really well know that he's searching for vacuums in the ads!)
