This morning we headed out to Blooms and Berries Farm to do some strawberry picking with the Maxam’s…
Ty and Trent got right down to business, and were such good little workers! They made us so proud-picking the best berries and plopping them into their own containers, stepping in the rows respectfully, and sticking together the whole time…
Ty found a GOOD ONE…
And a BAD ONE…
Marlo and Eli were perfect little angels in their strollers, having a snack while we picked :)
And part of that snack may have involved a strawberry or two or three!.
Trent was proud of his bounty too…
And he had a little taste too…
As we were hurrying them along, they noted that their containers were “half full” :) and then compared them…
They were so precious, going out into the field on their own :)
Going down a fun slide at the farm…
First, Amanda waited for Trent to make it down…
…and he made it down safe and sound…(you can see Ty at the top, in red, waiting to go…)
“Well, Ty, are you coming???”…
Nope, there he is, coming back down the stairs :)
Afterwards, we went to the park and the boys were so hot and sweaty that they were simultaneously drinking out of the fountain and playing in the dog bowl…
Then, some big girls came up to get a drink and the boys quickly got out of there! They look so guilty in this picture, I love it :)
What a fun, eventful day. It feels so good to give the kids experiences like these: the simplicity of going to pick berries and a picnic lunch at the park make for a very enjoyable day. Sunshine, smiles, that sweaty-boy smell, giggles, running around and all with good friends puts a smile on our faces and in our hearts.
(P.S. I can’t wait to make a strawberry pie, that will also be a wonderful accompaniment to a beautiful experience!)
