Wow, giving up the computer for Lent has been very encouraging and liberating in a weird kind of way. But it has taken me away from blogging just a little bit, ha! I feel that I have some time now to get some of these memories down because we are having such a busy Spring already!
Ty at Trent’s “Hockey” Birthday Party (AKA, ice skating during free skate time!)
Of course, sitting off on the sidelines he found some kind of sword-like piece of metal and wanted to spend time doing that instead, ha!
A week ago we had a “Super Hero Playdate” with Ty’s friend from school, Mikey, and his sister Lily. (I highly recommend this type of playdate for those of you out there with young boys! The girls could also take part too, of course!)
Some of the (dollar store) loot I had sitting out for the kiddos…
Marlo’s dress up wardrobe :)
Artillery. Lots of it.
Dress up time!
Who knows what in the world Marlo is with her concoction!
Buzz and Woody
On Saturday morning we headed to the library (Very last minute! Thanks K, for the prompting on that!) to visit with the (high school) cast of Beauty and the Beast, one of the kids’ current favs! See how many characters YOU can name :)
“Mommy can I eat this candy, NOW?”
Ty and Hattie coloring (and also acting very aloof with the very sweet characters, ha! I think they had no clue what an “autograph” was!)
That same Saturday night we had a surprise planned for the kids, a visit to the Children’s Theater at the Taft Theater downtown. Peter Pan!!!! (Despite the reaction from the girl behind us, this play was NOT a snooze!)
Afterward we had reservations at The Boathouse, mmm.
Ty had his OWN plate of kids meal ribs :)
Goofing off around the river (under very watchful eyes of course!).
Despite the cool temperatures, we headed down to the Reds Opening Day Parade (perhaps we gave them some good luck, have you seen their record??)
I think my children are not a part of enough extracurricular activities, so I decided to take them roller skating. They are so deprived of meaningful experiences huh?!
I LOVE this picture of Ty, it was one of the first I took of him that night and it portrays perfectly the theme of the night-shaky, flopping around, but staying up on the skates for the most part!
After a Sunday dinner, Ty was lucky enough to get to fly around a little bit in his Buzz Lightyear costume, courtesy of Uncle B and Uncle D! Come to think of it, I should invite these Uncles over for our Super Hero playdates! Imagine the possibilities!
Another night of skating at Family Skate Night :) Notice the sweet skates!
Today we headed to the park to take advantage of this AMAZING weather! We met up with our dear friends the Culpeppers, and guess who else we happened to run into??? GG & Grandpa and Gunnar & Scout :)
Marlo getting some nice pushes from Ty and Hattie :) It was a team effort!
Sweetest picture ever. Grandpa and his grandsons, just ‘a swingin’!
THE END.
