…to prove to dad that I am not a fool. (Name that quote!)
Well, this is a brand new school year because not only is Ty going, but our little Miss Marlo is now going two days a week.
Another thing that is different is that last year I had to wake both of them up. They would groggily resist my pleas to get up at or around 7:30AM. Not this year.
Here is Ty, fresh out of bed on the first day at 6:50 AM!!! Demanding his favorite “poptart” :)
Marlo was up shortly after that, and also interested in having a poptart, for the first time :)
Thankfully the first day was absolutely gorgeous. And despite the fact that they were dressed and ready with backpacks secured on their shoulders, we didn’t have to leave till 9:45 (for a shortened day)!
So we headed to the front porch for some pictures…
(Here’s a little refresher: Back to school 2010…)
Why do children have to grow SO fast :(
Gotta be silly too :)
I always love the site of little preschoolers being swallowed up by their gigantic backpacks!
First we dropped Marlo off, since she’s on the first floor.
First the cubby…
…then handwashing (with Mrs. Brown).
Then it was time to head upstairs with the BIG boy!
After hanging up his backpack…
He got straight to work with the playdoh.
And not only is it “Back to School” time, but it’s “Back to FOOTBALL” time. Tommy does an excellent job of preparing for this yearly event as well. Dressing the children in their jerseys religiously on Sundays, starting chants of “Go BEARS!” and dressing his sweet daughter in boy clothes are all part of his duties.
Let’s hope it’s a better school year than the Bears’ predicted season! (Sorry Tommy, had to say it, and I am the author of this blog, ha ha ha ha!)
