Well, here I am, posting again (ahh, the joys of having Tommy off work for a good amount of time around the holidays!)…
I didn’t get nearly enough pictures of our holiday celebrations (NONE from my mom and Terry’s!?!) but here is what I have. Much like the Christmas right after Mia was born, this holiday season will all seem like a blur so I am glad to have some documentation of our Christmas!
Christmas Eve late morning we celebrated with yummy food and gifts at Mom and Terry’s (Mom, do you have any pics?????)-during which we were able to FaceTime with Aunt Ann…then we had to come home for naps and around 4pm the whole Regan crew came over for dinner and gifts!
GG and Marlo (dressed in her dance recital outfit OF COURSE, duh!) sneaking in a quiet moment before the mayhem!
Daddy and Mia playing with her new Toddler Play Kit
Grandpa is about T minus 2 seconds from having a marshmallow shot into his backside!
Mia and Zeke discussing gift opening strategies…
The photographer, moi, is about T minus 1 second from having a marshmallow shot into her eye! (Thanks Gunnar for the sympathy in advance!)
Ty doing some shake testing on gifts…
Marlo taking another reading break!
Cheeeeeese
Mia opening up something dog-themed, which was just about everything she received this year!
Another common theme, BATMAN!
A thank you hug!
Thank you Aunt Vicky for the LARGEST gift ever!
Like I said, BATMAN!
“Don’t mind if I do…”
Bo. Chillin’.
Zeke!
This picture is actually to highlight Grandpa in the background there, at his post, with his cutting tool…”GRANDPA! OPEN IT!” “OPEN IT!”
Marlo having a Grinch Cookie.
Fast forward to Christmas morning!
I had been thinking about making Christmas morning Cinnamon Rolls for days, but I just couldn’t figure out when I would make the yeasted dough to pull that off…so I found a NO YEAST recipe and they were quite good!
Mia thought they were good too, and used the hands free technique to eat them!
Santa most assuredly came and ate almost all of his cookies!
Bo slept. The story of his life. Except his night life.
Marlo got an EASY BAKE oven…therefore that means I got a lifetime ticket to painfully following these directions and helping her to make dime-sized cookies that get eaten in about 3 seconds, then cleaning out the tiny little utensils and bake ware! It’s all worth her smiles though
And this picture, while it is precious as it shows Marlo offering Tommy a teensy cookie, perfectly illustrates a phenomenon a fellow mommy-of-four warned me about. The “vanishing third child” phenomenon. Many many times throughout the day we look at each other and say…”Umm, where is Mia?”
See for yourselves…
Whew, two blogs in two days…I’m pretty worn out!
(Don’t worry, I’m sure it’ll be another several months before I get around to posting!)
