Oh. I have a blog? Whoops.

So here goes nothin'.  I'm going to attempt to do a post from my phone and the complete scatterbrained nature of the photos will prove just why I have been so neglectful!

We shop at Target, a lot. And sometimes this is just necessary...

We spent our winter coming up with interesting activities.  Like this cardboard pizza...

Followed up with real pizza, of course!

Our Buddha being quite the helper this winter

Perhaps one of my favorite things about winter-snow running! (Though I'm sidelined now with an injury, more on that later.)

Running in single digit temps. Bring it on. And clearly, we clothe Mia appropriately for the weather as well.

Sisters, who are growing to be best buddies. They now share a room and are forced into loving each other...at all hours of the day!
Mia cannot wait for Bo to "get bigger" so "maybe he play with me"!

One of Mia's first time-outs. (Let's not discuss how many she has had since this one!) She was genuinely sad that she had misbehaved and did some whimpering in her spot, to which I thought the appropriate response was to snap a picture (mom of the year award, right there!).

We run a very strict and serious household...

Emphasis on the serious. No fun at all.

Yes, photographer girl, these are all mine. They're not cousins or neighbors :)

Happy 5th Birthday Marzipan!

Tommy's genius idea for keeping baby Bo entertained. Chip clip + old balloons=baby contentment

Random warm day at the park, perfect selfie conditions.

Yes it is possible to transport 4 children on one stroller. Yes, random stranger, these ARE all my children!

Happy Birthday Ty and Marlo! We surprised them with a fort in the back play area.

Doing our best to pretend it's not 40million degrees below zero...

Opening Day Parade. Eating lunch, quite literally, on the city streets. Mmm.

Just a LITTLE stock up trip to Sam's-Tommy's favorite store of all time.

Bo really does know.

Little Leaguers and Cousins!

Little Miss Thing, doing her thing at her (last) dance recital.

Serious. Strict. Zero fun.

My Zoo babies.

Ty had a blast and rocked it out in first grade (with Mrs. Wiethorn).

Ringing in Lemonade Stand weather!

These are NOT all mine, ha! But it can be done! Cousin fun- having dinner and playtime all together.

Marlo at her Olympic Day at preschool. Her last year before Kindergarten (sniff sniff). Go Blue Team!

Marlo and her best buddy Emma :)

Last Day 2014

The end of May marked a few firsts for us: the longest road trip we have ever taken with the kids and our first trip to Washington, D.C. for any of us! We piled (hello, can you see that pack job tommy did in the trunk?!) everyone in super early and hit the road to Danny and Vicky's wedding...

Several hours in we had to stop for many things (food, bathrooms, stretching), and of course that meant play time too.  Where's the perfect place for that? Cracker Barrel of course (where it's quite okay to still be in pjs at noon!).

DuPont Circle.

Bo hogging the king size bed. Greedy baby!

The kids felt so independent to walk the halls, locate our rooms, use the elevators.

Kardashian-ish. Except we are SO NOT similar, like at all!

Having some fun at a mall with GG and Grandpa.

Stopping for a few minutes to let the kids be kids.  We stumbled upon perhaps the COOLEST park we have ever seen. Humongous, creative, safe, endless playing possibilities...

Mia being courageous. And also showing off her amazingly cute toddler cankles. Ack, I could just eat her up!

Marlo climbing in style! I could eat her up too.

Cousins waiting in line to see the White House. I wonder if they ever did find Larry? LARRY!?

Bo. My angel. Was such a good sleeper on our trip. He got the award for best behaved.

Fancy Buddha

This is about as dressy as he gets.

A ceremonial Ring Around the Rosy before the wedding.

My children barely recognized me. Where are the running shorts, the messy ponytail, the spit up stains?

Mia doing some questionable things to the statue.
Handsome (and cool!) Ring Bearers

My baby. Though I can scarcely refer to him as such these days, he IS a big second grader now, you know!

Superhero Bling.
Mia admiring the grand architecture and extravagance of the cathedral. Also she was wondering if the organ could play Frozen music.

This is where toddlers, children and caregivers spend a wedding mass. No amount of snacks or distractions could keep them quiet for longer than about 3 minutes.

Now I am about caught up to the present time...and with Marlo's growing enthusiasm about and knowledge of all things BIRDS we frequently have bird parties at our house in the evening. It's basically her dressing up like the designated bird and making the calls of that bird all night long.

Mia putting a flower girl dress to good use. With rain boots. And a chocolate cookie.  Hmm, okay Mia :)

And now Marlo doing the same thing. Boots are a must at this house.

Having a lunch date out back under the fort on the table I "made" them (old stump, sanding paper, lacquer).

Ty enjoying a 'smore at a friends birthday party.

Coney time!!

And this picture sums up what I've been doing for about the past week. Last Thursday (June 5) I had knee surgery to fix a torn meniscus. No fun no fun no fun.

All summer activities are well under way, we have the pool to swim at, rides to ride at Coney, camps, friends to play with (including new neighbor friend Meg!) and just a general laid back attitude to go about our days...ahhh...just like the feeling of a high powered water sprinkler shooting at your bottom. Bliss.

Cincinnati nature center.

Hope you enjoyed (anyone still with me? Hello??) this choppy blog post chock full of phone pictures!
Maybe I'll even do another update before Santa comes again!
Happy Summer!
