Ready...Set...Go!

So, on Saturday Ty competed in the Hyde Park Blast race. He was in the kids division, of course, and ran a whopping 25 yards (though, I think it was a bit longer than that). He rose early from bed, did a few calisthenics and a few strides, followed by a hearty breakfast of tootmeal (for you who know Ty well, you know what this is), blueberries and chock full o' protein-milk. He suited up in his new bright green race tshirt and black adidas shorts. He had white socks jacked up to his knees (thanks, Dad) and his well worn in Nike shoes double knotted for assurance. With mini, chilled water bottle in hand he was escorted out to Hyde Park Square where he toed up to the start line. Sweat starting to line his brow, he did a few quick leaps in the air to awaken his muscles. (Insert inspirational Rocky music...) As the official announced the imminent starting gun, Ty made the sign of the cross as he was about to begin his very first race. A whopping 25 yards lay ahead of him, but the miles and weeks of training behind him guaranteed a swift finish. While other competitors were feverishly trying to wedge into a prime spot on the start line, Ty held his spot and watched the official raise the gun (her arm)..."Ready, Set......GO!" And off he went. Like a flash, he zipped past all the other competitors and left all the other wimpy, bright green shirted kiddos choking on his dust. In a world record breaking time Ty Thomas Joseph Regan crossed the finish line with the cacophonous crowd roaring his praises! He was presented with a pure Golden finishers medal, an ice cold cup of water for rehydration, and a lot of hugs and kisses from his greatest fans...

**If you'd like to call and wish him congratulations, please be patient as we are taking several calls from Nike, Gatorade and other such companies for endorsement deals.

Pre-race, stretching out those hamstrings...

Don't forget those calves...

Competitor Ty Regan and his agent, Ms. Mommy.

Whew, a job well done. Rehydration time! Would ya look at that medal!

Receiving a congratulatory HIGH FIVE from Uncle Mikey!

Pure Gold.

And here's the BIG RACE!

(you may notice a comment made in the background- "looks like he's having trouble making it"-just ignore that, it was just some rude, non-competitor, crowd member who is OBVIOUSLY envious of Ty's physical power, stamina, physique and musculature!)

And here is Ty-just about 24 hr after the race, refeuling with carbs-(whole wheat) french toast, fruit and a good read of the Sunday paper (and those of you who know Ty really well know that he's searching for vacuums in the ads!)

Video fun :)

Does this video make you DIZZY or what???

This is what Summer is all about...

Okay so first of all, this picture is from last night (Thursday night). Ty and I went to the store and bought some bird seed (finally) to fill our many bird feeders. Ty was more than willing to help and retrieved his trusty bucket and shovel in seconds. He raced to the back yard and I helped him fill this house to the brim with nuts, seeds, all the good stuff.... Then this morning, as I rise at the crack of dawn to start making some baked oatmeal for my little guy I saw a little rustle outside the fence. The past few mornings I've been seeing lots of deer and one morning even a few baby deer (fawns right?). So I caught a glimpse of something and focused in....and my eyesight was not failing me...look at what I saw...

So I grabbed the almost-dead-battery filled camera and snapped these shots. Can you believe it? A coyote. Eeek. That's RIGHT where Ty and I were standing just 12 hours prior! (Shudder.)

Anyway.....on to better and more jovial things! Marlo Ann Marie was baptised June 14 at St. Rose Church. With mommy, daddy, Godparents Dan and Ann by her side Father Barry baptised our sweet girl. Many family members and friends were present. What a day!

A few nights after that we got to spend some time outside before a lovely storm rolled in...gotta love that timed function on the camera. I'm so glad we caught this moment on film.

And then the rains came...Ty was ALL too happy to run laps on the deck, getting soaked the whole time!

He also included Banks in his fun. He would toss the ball onto the deck and Banks would chase it, with Ty closely behind him. He lovese his dog, can you tell?

Of course I had to steal this pic!

And this one...

If only I could quantify the amount of happiness he was exuding...it was priceless!

A couple days later Ty got to experience the childhood favorite past-time, playing with the hose. It's the cheapest, most inventive, original, fun, educational and rewarding toy on the market...(it's right up there with "stick" and "mud")...

Oh how good that felt :)

And on that very same night, look who came to visit Waterpoint Lane...

His inaugural BOMB POP! Let summer begin!

Bring on the smiles...(and the copious amounts of artificial food dyes, the stuff literally stained the skin on his arm, I couldn't help but wonder what a stomach must feel like when filled with that stuff!....eek. BUT, I digress.)

Mmm. Love times a million.

This is a REALLY post...

Getting a REALLY good look at the flashlight... He REALLY wanted to take a drink of this water (I was in disagreement with that though, since it had millions of gnats, sand, and goodness knows what else...)

Ty REALLY wanted to paint like Daddy and Grandpa...

He REALLY did not like getting his shoes wet when he poured it out on the ground, yet he kept doing it 50 times :) and making this "uh-oh" face...

He REALLY REALLY loves corn on the cob, especially if it has "handlebars" (that's a Ty word for you foodies out there!)...

Ty's heiney looked REALLY adorable in this new swim suit...

Do I REALLY need to write something about this, I mean, come on...

:)

Ty is in fact REALLY wearing a shirt with a tie on it and it reads, "I am the boss". REALLY TRUE.

Summer Fun Begins!

Look who loves the jumper already! This thing wears her out!
A day at the Zoo! Again, this is one of those "QUICK, GET THE PICTURE" kind of shots where I seem to have the death grip on Ty before he bolts!

Does this sight just warm your heart or what?!

Ty got up close and personal with the giraffes, he loved to see their tongues.

"Look GG, a squirrel." (see it on the post?)

This is what happens when you tell a 2 year old not to walk on the gibbon display...he just goes ahead and does it! (with his trusty sticks in-hand to boot!)

A day at the park :) Ty running away from Daddy in the field...

Oh, but Daddy can scoop him up in seconds!

"I'm running to Daddy...to deliver some 'food'"!

"Hey Dad, I have something for you..."

"Here here here ya' go Daddy!"

Daddy and Baby Girl. So sweet (and matching!).

Driving Lessons from a TWO YEAR OLD.

So, Ty finally got his Cozy Coupe, and he's ready for the open roads. Here are his driving instructions:

1. Smile about your newly acquired vehicle, of which you have waited for for 2 long years!
2. Wave goodbye to your family and friends as you embark on your first joyride!

3. Rev your "engine" Fred Flinstone style.

4. Turn that key, start it up...the MUSIC that is!

5. There's no shame in letting people see you while you drive and sing! Belt it out! "I want to seeeee youuu."

6. Get down to business, steer that car around all those crazy twists and turns. (Or rather, all those 2 inches of driveway you can cover with those two little feet.)

7. Oh no, time to fill 'er up. Gas is so expensive these days...

8. Try to steal gas pump...yikes!

9. Drive away just as fast as you can, 10 & 2 remember Ty? None of that "I'm too cool" holding the steering wheel with one hand there Mister!
**May your next carride be as joyful as Ty's first! (Though, you might have some different rules to guide you!)
