We held the FIRST Annual Girls Family Cookie Bake at our house today, and we had a blast!
The oven was cranked, the ingredients plentiful, hands were busy and cookies were being tested (mmmm!).
Everyone streamed in starting about noon and we staggered all of our baking times. We snacked, baked, chatted, snacked, laughed, scolded Tommy for stealing all of the cookies, and baked some more :)
Carmen and Alex hard at work decorating the sugar cut-out cookies.
Me demonstrating dorky rolling techniques:
Aunt Mary hard at work, stir stir stir!
Aunt Connie, was that one of those darn cookies that kept falling right off the table and into your mouth??? SILLY cookies!
Mom clearly didn’t get enough peanut butter…
Aunts Bobbie, Mary & Connie. Look at that sea of ingredients!!
Buckeyes!!! Peanut butter and chocolate, complete goodness!
Beware, the next two photos are offensive if you are of the sort who finds the juxtaposition of potty humor and food wrong!
You were warned!
Jam Thumbprints with Gail and Vicky, mmm.
Alex busied herself with preparing a wonderful salad of hamburger, grapes, ketchup, bread, melon, and…you name it, it was in there!
Ty was busy coughing up a storm (poor little man) and Marlo was just looking cool with her upside down pink glasses, all while watching Snow White…
The jury is still out on just how many cookies the kids ingested. Any and all who aided and abetted please come forward (ahem, Tommy, Ann…)!
Here’s one (almost) final picture of the tablescape, there are still several cookies missing from this one!
Let’s see if I can remember the goodies:
Buckeyes and Melted Pretzel Kiss Thingies by Mom and Alex
Jam Thumbprints and M&M Cookie Bars by Gail and Vicky
Cherry cookies with icing by Haley (It should also be mentioned that precious baby girl Scout just charmed us all with her sweetness, no cookies or sugar necessary!)
I made decorated sugar cut-out cookies
White Chocolate Crunch Mix, Cream Cheese Cookies and Cranberry Walnut cookies by Aunt Mary and Connie
Earthquake Cookies, Divinity, and Chocolate Fudge by Aunt Sharon and Carmen
Peanut Butter Cookies & Chocolate Chip Cookies by Aunt Bobbie
Peanut Butter Kiss cookies by Ann
We missed Aunt Sandy, who made Wedding Cookies
Did I forget any???
What a FUN FUN gathering, I already look forward to next year!
