Well, we are finding ourselves mourning the lack of a real winter here, but also at the same time SO looking forward to the warmth and long days of Spring and Summer!
March brings plenty of Birthdays (there will be a pretty hefty blog after the kids’ dual Batman Birthday party, which I am having here at the house and planning all the details with the help of creative friends and of course, Pinterest!)
March has also brought me into the new realm of SLR cameras!! YAY, I finally have a “big girl” camera and those days of missing wonderful pictures and the yucky quality of the ol’ point and shoot photos are LONG GONE.
You will have to bear with me while I learn to use the new piece of equipment, but for now we already notice a difference in the quality of the pictures
Enjoy these first few “funny face” photos I took…
Here are the big kids getting ready to head off to Sunday School for the very first time I’m so excited to be able to start this routine for them (albeit kind of late in the year, it ends in April!).
On the Sunday before Marlo’s birthday we celebrated with a special dinner at her request. When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday dinner her first answer was, “cheese”. Then when I prodded for more information, she said, “pancakes”. Somehow I convinced her that “pizza” would be a nice compromise and I set about making many many handmade pizzas for the Regan clan! The kids had Batman shaped whole wheat pepperoni and cheese pizza, of course. Here’s some gift-opening fun…
Mia joined in on the fun, transported in the Bumbo chair, by Daddy!
Cake time! She requested PINK PINK PINK. So a fresh strawberry cake with strawberry cream cheese frosting was what I came up with. And how did it taste? Well, I couldn’t even tell you because Tommy and I both decided to give up sweets for Lent! It sure smelled delicious though!
“Get away from my cake!”
Look at that handsome boy with his arm around his little sis! This was just a normal day at school, but Ty decided he needed to be “Bruce Wayne” for school and dress to the nines. We received many comments on his attire. Typically he is a comfy, sweatpants and tshirt type dude, so he was really looking dapper
Birthday Girl
We really know the value of celebrating the HECK out of birthday around here, so this is the evening of her birthday at home. I had a stroke of luck where, in the afternoon, all THREE kids napped at the same time…ANNND, rather than sit around and eat bon bons or watch soap operas (neither of which I have ever done anyway!) I made up a fun and easy batch of “M” “3” and Batsignal Sugar Cookies. Again, I wonder how these tasted? The kids approved, so I was happy.
And look who is getting BIG!!!! 3 months old and we are enjoying every single bit of her 100th% weight!
If I searched hard enough in the archives of this blog, especially in 2009 when Marlo was just born, I could find pictures of Ty exhibiting his knowledge of what it means to be a lactating mom (hint hint: he was “pumping” with dixie cups!)
And now, here’s the kind of dramatic play the kids involve in now…
Marlo had to “nurse” her baby and Ty was right there to lend a hand, helping her to be modest and cover up with a nursing shield.
Not a single detail escapes them!
Until again,
The Regans!
