So, with the new camera, I feel like I’ve been more prepared to catch certain things because I’m excited to use my new toy. Well, one evening I laid Mia on the floor for some tummy time and to get some shots of her like that…and wouldn’t you know it, that little stinker rolled over for the FIRST TIME!!! I set her back up on her belly to see if she’d do it again, and of course not she just laughed at me and said, “Gotcha Mom!”
Before this awesome weather descended upon us (80s in March! What??!!), we did have some rainy days and the kids asked to paint. Since I was feeling kind of lucky that Mia was napping and I felt like I should be a kind Mama and let them do as they desired…
We ended up with a bunch of “Army brown” pictures, as I like to call it
GG and Mia having some cuddle time…
The busy-ness of March continued with Ty’s birthday on the 19th, and the few days before he was dealing with a little “bug” (ICK!), which led to us having to cancel a few things we had planned to celebrate his special day. Luckily, though, on his actual birthday he was feeling pretty much 100% better, but apparently I had a sickness overcome my brain and I forgot to wrap his presents from us. Then…a stroke of motherly genius hit and I decided to turn it into a new tradition for us…instead of opening wrapped gifts on birthdays, we will now HIDE them in the house somewhere and have the birthday boy/girl find their presents! (Whew!)
So, we told Ty the new drill and off he went…
Gotta check that house…
Still searching…(And, heavens above, would you look at that MESS!!!)
And…THERE IT IS! JACKPOT!
“JUST what I WANTED!!! Bruce Wayne changing into Batman!”
Little Sis helping Ty discover his gifts…
Later that evening Nana and Alex came over for some more gifts and a treat!
(And maybe some goofing off!)
We love Nana
GG, Grandpa, Uncles Mike and Danny also came over bearing MORE gifts!
Another highlight of our evening (for all of us!), we got to Skype with Ann!
A birthday cookie was the perfect end to the evening (and also an easier treat on Ty’s stomach!)
And I have to admit, I need some major help. Like totally, completely need some intense HELP. How in the world was THIS…
FIVE YEARS AGO????????????
Oh my word, it has been an amazing five years! My little Ty Guy made me a mama for the first time and he is growing up to be such an intuitive, smart, creative, funny, responsible (hmm, mostly!), caring son and big brother…I could not be more proud of him or happier that he’s OURS.
And of course today, since it’s a million degrees in March, I broke out a (size 6 month!) dress for Miss Mia. Photo shoot…
And speaking of growing up fast, it seems as if I already need to take Mia bra shopping! (And if this blog sticks around for a long time, I’m sure this will be one of those lines she will kill me for writing when she gets to be a preteen!)
Love you Mia, every little bit of your chubby little body
And pardon me while I take a blogging breather before another whirlwind of activity…this weekend is the much awaited BATMAN PARTY for Ty and Marlo!
