Spring is dragging its feet & Birthday Parties

Well, the weather decided to brighten up for at least a few days last week and we literally basked in its beauty. We went to the zoo, park, on walks, played outside...you name it, we did it!
Here is Ty and his friend Zach "tooling around" at the zoo. Of course Ty snuck his screwdriver in to the zoo via the stroller basket and wielded it for most of our visit. We stumbled upon this really neat "green" exhibit, with artwork made out of caps, and OF COURSE each one was SCREWED to the wall ("phillips or flathead?") and so Ty and (when he'd let him) Zach took turns pretending to unscrew the caps.

Here's Miss Darling Marlo sitting back and enjoying the ride with a little sippy to go with it :)

The peacocks and hens were out in prolific numbers on this gorgeous day and so the boys just roamed among them without a care in the world from either party.

Here they are chasing one down...

Marlo was quite smitten with the kangaroo, however the feeling was NOT mutual-the little joey did not approve of our gargantuan stroller!

Whoa whoa whoa, would you just take a moment and scroll down slowly and check out this next picture. It just about brings a tear to my eye...this is my LITTLE MAN! My almost-three-year-old little man! He was all dressed up for our family birthday party (for both he and Marlo), and I was lucky enough to snag this adorable pic of his smile and cute little pose :)

And take a moment to slowly scope out this pic too...this is handsome, dapper, stylish Gunnar. And what does that bib say? A diva??? I think NOT! Uncle Tommy thought this might be a funny shenanigan...I do not think Gunnar is amused, ha!

Speaking of Diva, look at Miss Marlo's facial expression! As soon as she sees that camera she turns on that silly cheesy smile :)

The Regan Family. The Holtermans and Versozas were also present, but it probably would've taken us ALL NIGHT to orchestrate a FULL family photo ha ha ha!

So the next few pictures are not of very good quality, something happened to my camera for the rest of the night and the settings were WAY off, so the pictures are kind of wacky. But here is the gift giving just beginning...I was dizzy afterwards, it was all a blur of tissue paper, toys, and clothes and more toys!

A musical instrument to add to the cacophony around this household :) Thanks Aunt Sharon and Uncle Buddy!

Marlo was into EVERYTHING-pink or blue, Ty or Marlo addressed, it didn't matter one bit!

Perhaps Ty's favorite gift of the night (and the favorite of all of our eyeballs for sure too, ha!) was this glaringly bright LED flashlight from Uncle Gary and Aunt Bobbie! So far, since the party that flashlight has traveled with us to the circus, an indoor play area and to the dinner table for every meal :)

Ahhh, cake time!!! Here's Marlo's first reaction to her adorable cake...one finger in the icing and immediately she smeared it across the tray. She didn't want anything to do with it after that, let alone a taste. So I had to kind of force feed her a tiny morsel to make sure she knew what she was passing up on...

Thinking...

Getting brave...

Seeing the deliciousness on the inside...

I cut it in half to make it a little more manageable (meanwhile, Ty was right next to her scarfing down not one, but TWO pieces of cake-Thanks Uncle B for sneaking that extra one to him! ha ha!)
Look at her lips though, she's had a taste or two....

Now she's finding her comfort zone :)

Like I said, my camera was not acting normally on that night, so I didn't get very many good pictures. :( So that's all I have from the party.

The next day we took the kids to the Circus! Marlo was completely entertained any animal that entered the ring (especially the dogs and horses!), but she quickly lost interest at the acrobatics and clowns. We took her on many walks through the concession area :)

This is what she did the entire time there were animals out there. She would just point and say "oooooooooh! dohhh" (which means "dog"....or fish, or cat, or horse, or any other four-legged creature!)

Goofing around at home on a lazy Sunday night :)

Marlo doing her "HHHOT" face! She can say the word "hot" and she makes this crazy face with her mouth wide open and her eyes shut :)
Here she is pickpocketing her Daddy! It was a piece of paper/trash that we kept trying to hide from her so she wouldn't put it in her mouth...little Miss Persistent!

Crawling to Daddy for a quick little smooch :)

Trying on her brother's cowboy hat...(and playing with her new favorite "toy", socks!)

I love her little personality!

Come on, don't you too???!!!

And here's a little teaser picture of the next post I hope to put up here soon (NOOO, not the Big Brother shirt!!!)...Ty got his very own digital camera from GG and Grandpa and has been clicking away since Saturday night! I am going to upload the pictures and do a "Ty Blog" very soon, to show you just what he's been photographing (I promise to remove the 79 pictures of my neck or his own legs or the carpet, I'll save you the boredom!)

And here's a little video of the Song Du Jour lately (heck with these two kids' birthdays back to back, we've been singing it nonstop!)
