Ty's 3rd Birthday Party!

Ty got to have his FIRST friends birthday party to celebrate turning THREE (which actually isn't until March 19th). We invited his friends to come and play in the kids gym with Mr. John at the Racquetclub. They ran around like crazy kids, did gymnastics, ate snacks and cake and even gave themsevles wedgies (more on that later!!!), and OF COURSE there was a vacuum or 2 involved! Scroll down to see the TONS of fun he had with all of his friends!
Here he is before everyone arrived, practically salivating over his cake, his TOOL CAKE! I think before everyone even got there, a screwdriver was already pried from the cake-icing and all!
Here's mostly everyone just sitting down to "shake the bells" hello with Mr. John. The friends in attendance were: Kailey, Toby, Hattie, Davis, Trent, Zach, Bennett. And the baby brothers/sisters that tagged along and were able to play a little bit too were: Marlo (of COURSE!), George, Dacey, Eli and Lizzy. There also were some special appearances made by Nana, GG and Grandpa :)

Mr. John is amazing with children (we've taken his gym classes before), and within the first few minutes mostly everyone was involved and participating! With all the nasty weather and being cooped up inside, the kids were just ready to run amok!

This picture might look terribly out of focus and/or displays my horrible photography skills but actually it shows perfectly the scene of the party-CRAZINESS! This was the warm up run...

Here they are doing "crab walks", yet Mr. John decided to say, "Give yourself a WEDGIE!" I doubt the kids really undestood that but the adults thought it was kind of funny :) Here's Ty and Trent giving themselves some wedgies, ha.

Ty and Trent playing an impromptu game of tag!

Oh, the parachute! Everyone got a chance to jump in the middle and pop around like "popcorn", they really liked the individual attention and having everyone "pop" them around!

There goes Ty!...

He was having SO much fun doing this...

Then it was time for the choo-choo train of kids to travel off to something else...and boy, did they hold on with death grips!

Check out this "classroom management" technique! Mr. John attached "bubble gum" to each child's back so they would sit on the wall and not get up and run around (they were watching the order of activities to do and paying attention to directions)...Yeah, I might definitely have to employ this technique in our home...wow, Ty still talks about that "gum" on his back and sitting there!

It's the Birthday Boy :)

Using the springboard. Ty's weight definitely does NOT depress the spring, so he needed some help from a larger adult :)

Here's Miss Marlo, going for a little walk with Nana. She actually took a few steps on her own during the party-I was elated (thanks Emily, ha)!

Two boys, doing what they do best, just hangin' around :)

Having a blast with the "big girl" at the party, Kailey :)

Here's Ty going across the balance beam in his own little way. Even though he can do the balance beam the way it's meant to be traversed, he decided it'd be funny to kind of straddle it all the way across...it started a trend...

He had a little following...;)

More hanging and some abdominal workout too!

Ty and Trent in awe of The "Toby-meister", flipping completely over the bar!

Don't adjust your screens! Yes, Mr. John is holding Ty by one arm and one leg. Looks gruesome, but Ty was laughing hysterically!

And here's Marlo exhibiting her one-year-old strength! She was holding onto that bar with all her might!

Basketball time!

Nothin'-but-net-Trent!

Some girly girl time <3>Whew, and they're finally shaking their bells goodbye..."Everybody say Yayyyy!"

As we headed up the stairs to finish up the party with snacks, cake and presents, we came upon this glorious sight...

Oh geez, a VACUUM! I thought for sure the party was over at this point. Ty has been known to drop everything and anything he's doing to simply sit and watch a vacuum in action. So, after exchanging a funny look with the cleaning lady, I snapped a quick photo of her and we moved on with our business, whew! Ty is what you'd call a vacuum connoisseur, and he was VERY impressed with this back-pack style appliance. He's very grateful that I got this picture so he can keep it forever!

Ahh, and there it is! Finally, the cake. He was so ready to tear into this thing, probably not so much to actually eat the cake, but to play with the TOOLS!

Call in the forces, we need everyone to blow these babies out!

(You gotta love this picture. Such a toddler snap-shot! Ty isn't even blowing out his candles, Trent is attempting to do the job for him, and Hattie, is....well, Hattie is...otherwise occupied :)

Such a serious look Ty, are you enjoying that cake or what? (He did have TWO pieces of cake, one yellow and one chocolate, to keep things fair and even!)

I love this picture, as all the gift opening commences-there's Mr. John in the background doing his best Vanna White...

Yay! Spiderman stuff GALORE!

Marlo was having a great time fooling around with the extra wrapping paper

" Look Mommy, he shoots his own web!"

With the party being from 12-2PM, we knew it was cutting into naptime a bit, and while Ty can easily deal with that schedule change, Little Miss Marlo was fighting heavy eyelids by the end of the party. When we got to the car, this was her face as we backed out of our parking spot...

And.......

...put a fork in her, SHE'S DONE!

Later on that night, from the playroom, Tommy and Ty spotted a new little friend out in the trees...Can you spy it?

A GIGANTIC owl! At least I think it's gigantic, I've never seen one this close...

I tell you what, though...it's better than having a darn coyote in your backyard! (P.S. We haven't seen THAT friend in quite a while!)

Stay tuned...another BIG birthday celebration is this coming weekend for both kiddos, I'm sure there'll be 500 more pictures to share with you!
